The LNL D3 Vulcan is LNL3D’s next step in revolutionizing affordable, effective, and reliable 3D printers. The LNL D3 Vulcan system is based around the Tenlog TL-D3 Pro. With improvements to the heating, printing, electronics, and motion systems, the D3 Vulcan performance is unparalleled in the Dual Extrusion category.
Springsteel PEI Coated Magnetic Build-plate
From hundreds of hours of testing, we have determined that the most versatile, effective, and cost efficient printing surface is PEI coated springsteel plating. We have created a dual sided system to allow for smooth surface finishes or rougher textured finishes to ensure maximum adhesion. This interchangeable system allows individual users to get the perfect first layer while allowing print farms to maximize production with hot-swappable plates.
Along with the new and improved build-plate, we’ve revamped the bed level adjustment system with finely tuned silicone spacers to allow for longer lasting bed levels and a more rigid frame.
Insulated Bed (Edge to Edge)
One of the biggest problems with the standard 3D printing industry and our previous TL-D3 Pro was the bed heating. Waiting for optimal build plate temperature can be the difference between a great print and a failed one. The D3 Vulcan has custom edge to edge insulation to maximize thermal efficiency, this addition reduces average heat times by up to 50%.
Dual Part Cooling Magnetic Mounted Covers
Almost all standard mid-range 3D printers come with a single part cooling fan. Time and time again, this has been a huge detriment to print quality and print speed. No longer will that be a problem. With the new symmetric dual fan design, the D3 Vulcan improves airflow to the part so bridges, overhangs, perimeters, and speed can be improved drastically.
Being the only repair center for Tenlog units in North America, LNL3D knows about the time and labor involved in servicing the TL line of 3D printers. That’s why we set out to create magnetically removable extruder covers. Through thousands of hours of servicing, we’ve determined that one of the largest bottlenecks in repairing the TL-D3 is having to dismount and remount the extruder covers. With this new addition, you’ll be able to inspect your hot-end and extruder without touching a tool. You’ll be able to service any toolhead assembly without the hassle of additional screws everywhere. And, you’ll be able to detach and reattach the cover without stripping the delicate sheet metal holes.
Marlin 2 Firmware
After being unsatisfied with the original TL-D3 Marlin 1 firmware, we set out to customize our own version of Marlin 2 that included all of the improvements that come with a newer version of Marlin, along with all of the limitations removed. Speed, quality, and mechanics can all be controlled and have been tuned to perfection under our LNL3D control.
By default, manual mesh bed leveling is enabled, allowing users to create a virtual mesh of the print bed for compensation for low or high spots. BL-Touch firmware will also be available for an add-on kit in the future.
Additional Marlin 2 features that can be accessed from the touch screen include: Baby Step Z, PID tuning, SD card folder viewing, and Linear Advance.
Revamped Cable Management/Strain Relief
One of the most common issues with the TL-D3 happens during certain homing operations, the E1 or E2 cable will catch onto the rear leveling knobs and create tension on the gantry. If not corrected immediately, this can lead to damage to the cabling and even bending of the gantry lead screws. We corrected this by installing retractable cable management, relieving any strain created from cable snagging and reducing risk of accidents and malfunctions.
