Questions Before You Print, Buy, Repair, or Enroll?

STL and 3MF are the most common print-ready formats. STEP, STP, IGES, OBJ, and other CAD formats may also be useful depending on the project. If you only have a drawing, photo, or physical part, contact us — CAD modeling or 3D scanning may be an option.

Yes. We support one-off parts, prototypes, replacement components, small batches, and repeat production. You do not need a large production quantity to work with us.

Lead time depends on part size, quantity, material, print process, machine availability, and whether CAD work is needed. Simple jobs may move quickly, while large or complex projects can require additional production time. We can provide an estimated schedule after reviewing your files and requirements.

That depends on the application. PLA is common for general prototypes and display parts; PETG offers improved toughness and practical durability; ASA can be useful for outdoor applications; TPU is flexible; nylon and engineering materials may be appropriate for higher-performance requirements. Tell us how the part will be used and we can help narrow the options.

Not necessarily. Additive manufacturing processes can show layer lines, support marks, texture, or small dimensional variations. The exact appearance depends on the process, material, geometry, orientation, and finishing method.

Often, yes. If the geometry is practical to reproduce, we may be able to model the part from measurements, a sample, photos, drawings, or scan data. We will also consider material, strength, heat, load, and safety requirements before recommending 3D printing.

Yes. LNL 3D Solutions provides CAD and 3D modeling support. Depending on the project, we can work from sketches, measurements, drawings, photos, reference parts, or scan data.

Yes. 3D scanning can be useful for geometry capture, reference, inspection, reverse-engineering workflows, and creating a starting point for CAD. The best scanning method depends on the object’s size, surface, geometry, and required accuracy.

We support multiple brands and technologies, including common FDM/FFF printers and selected resin and professional systems. Repairability depends on the specific model, available parts, condition, and type of failure. Contact us with the brand, model, and symptoms before bringing the printer in.

Yes. Our repair service is not limited to printers purchased from LNL 3D Solutions.

Yes. Depending on scope, we can help adjust geometry for manufacturability, fit, strength, assembly, print orientation, or practical use. Design work may be quoted separately from printing.

Yes, for products that are enabled for online checkout. Custom 3D printing, CAD, scanning, repair, and special projects may require a quote first because pricing depends on the project requirements.

Local pickup may be available for qualifying orders at our San Marcos, California location when arranged in advance. Please wait for confirmation that your order is ready before arriving.

Shipping charges are shown during checkout when available. Larger, fragile, high-value, oversized, international, or special orders may require a separate shipping quote.

Custom, made-to-order, printed, modified, configured, or specially sourced products are generally not returnable once production or purchasing has begun, except where we determine that a qualifying defect or material mismatch with the approved requirements occurred.

Contact us promptly with your order information and clear photos of the package and item. Keep the shipping box, packing material, labels, and damaged contents in case they are needed for a carrier claim.

3D Cubed is the education program by LNL 3D Solutions. It introduces students to 3D printing, CAD, robotics, creative engineering, and related digital fabrication skills through hands-on projects.

Age ranges vary by class and program. The current age group is shown on each available class listing. School-based programs may use different age or grade ranges than classes at the LNL 3D learning center.

Most introductory programs are designed to be beginner friendly. If a class requires prior experience, we will identify that in the class information.

If a class reaches capacity, the registration option may switch to a waitlist. Joining the waitlist helps us contact families if a seat opens or another section becomes available.

Yes. LNL 3D Solutions develops school-based programs, camps, workshops, and special education activities in addition to regular classes. Availability changes throughout the year.
